I'm also trying to do this — calculating "hours" from my % progress in a template sensor isn't working. |

This is a common request (e.g. #141). However, making the card work for numbers open another can of worms. I need to handle percentages, min/max values for calculating the percentages, and a lot of the timer options like active_state, guess_mode, etc. are no longer going to apply. It's almost like I need to have two different cards sharing the same codebase, but I was never able to come to a clean solution of how to achieve this without creating a huge maintenance burden for myself. Unless I have a great revelation or a bunch of extra time on my hands I don't think I'm going to do this one. |

I love how timer-bar-card looks, particularly thanks to its mushroom styling support. What I'm trying to achieve is to show a bar that represents the battery charge left in an electrical car. I guess this could only work if timer-bar-card supports taking an entity with a percentage as its input, but AFAIK, that's currently not possible.
I know it says "timer-bar-card" on the tin so I'm not expecting a non-timer solution, but I do hope you'll agree that this card could be so much more versatile and be useful in many more use cases if it would support percentage entities as an input. Hope to hear your thoughts!
