[Advice] 120 FPS stream on Windows 11 24H2

I noticed that compared to my Discord friends, who also use the plugin and streaming at 120 fps at my place, the sharing was in no way as smooth as at theirs. I took this to be a bug in the plugin, but the difference and also the solution turned out to be the Windows 11 system I was using in the latest version 24H2 - exact build: 26200.5562 – they, on the other hand, simply used Windows 10.

Computers with Win 11 24H2 will simply not be able to transmit above 60 fps when we want to achieve, for example, 120 fps. With the help and simultaneous solution to the problem comes the “Experimental options” option in Discord.

We can turn it on by going to Settings → Plugins → YABDP4Nitro → Plugin Settings → Miscellaneous → (Scroll down) and turn on Experiments. After enabling, reset Discord (CTRL + R)

After activating Experiments, we will see a new tab in Discord settings called "Experiments".
Go to it and look for the Windows Graphics Capture 24H2 API option.

And we're done!
After enabling this option, the streams will work and will be viewable at more than perhaps 60 fps!

Update: Since July or August 2025, the solution has not been working (at least on the latest version of Windows 11).

I found a workaround and probably a solution to this problem. Live streaming at 120 frames per second is working again, but there is one thing you need to do. After launching CS2 (in full screen), which changes the resolution of the streamed screen, the stream will run normally at a specified speed of 120 frames per second! This only happens if:

1. We start the stream
2. We launch, for example, CS2 in full screen with a different resolution, e.g., 1920x1440

From that moment on, we actually have 120 frames per second.

@riolubruh are we able to make an appropriate change to the plugin that would “simulate” the resolution change and then change it to the correct one after a second to achieve an effect similar to that caused by changing the monitor resolution when starting the game?

@zairoxtv I feel like this could be a result of simply going into Exclusive Fullscreen, which would mean that the application is controlling the monitor instead of Windows (which means bypassing DWM and likely whatever changed in 24H2), but I haven't tested that theory yet.
