Stamen background layer is not available anymore

As of July 31, 2023, Stamen Map Tiles are served by Stadia Maps. Click here to learn more. They are not freely available anymore. I just realized it today while showing live demos to people during the mid term international LIFE RIPARIAS conference.

So, if you try to select the stamen background you will get quite a bad surprise 😲

I suggest to use Carto DB positron map instead.

Hi @niconoe. I think this issue should also be tackled soon as it's actually a bug, see screenshot:

I think it's quite easy to solve. I think its all about removing these lines:

To be confirmed 100% in 2 weeks (once my "free trial period" on Stadia is over): apparently, we can still use it as long as the usage stays low and the domain is whitelisted at Stadia. So I just changed that, and so far it seems to work (map back online)
