spike/pk execution get into infinite loop

clone ws from latest riscv-gnu-toolchain
go to spike/pk source and build spike/pk

Problem:
The exec of spike/pk got into infinite loop

Solution:
Before configure/build spike/pk
you need to do "git checkout master" first
in both spike and pk ws

If you want to build the toolchain along with Spike, then use ./configure --prefix=$RISCV --with-sim=spike as documented here.

If you encounter an issue in Spike or PK, then please report to the corresponding projects with exact steps ("exec of something got into infinite loop" is certainly not exact) to reproduce the issue.

If you build Spike and pk manually, then there is little we can do here.
Note, that Spike an pk are included in this repo as git submodules.

If you found an issue with Spike or pk that is fixed upstream, then we can update the git submodules for them.

In case your problem can be solved with a more recent version of Spike or pk, a PR to update both has been created: #1796.

In particular a minimal reproducible test case and full instructions on how to reproduce the issue?

After merging #1796, we can close this as we have the latest Spike and pk for sure.

Feel free to open a new ticket if you still encounter issues.
