When I use the current script to compile the Windows version with GDB enabled, the configuration for GDB reports errors about not being able to find MPFR and GMP. What parameters should I use to compile both GCC and GDB together, similar to ./configure ...?

I'm afraid there are not many native Windows users that build this repo.
If native Linux is not an option, then maybe WSL is a viable solution.

In general, we have several build prerequisites that must be available on the host system.
I.e. they need to be installed and the configure script needs to find them.

Another possible option for (cross) building the bare metal toolchain for native Windows might be to use (and adapt if necessary) @ilg-ul's xPack build process/scripts.
