Record Audio in iPhone with PWA

Hi there,

Is it possible to record Audio on my mobile without interruption if the phone gets locked? I’d like to begin recording at the start of a conversation and continue throughout but the process stops after 15 seconds. Unlocking the phone then causes the task to fail.

This is a limitation of PWA on iphone. PWA can't hold the background lock. So your phone will have to stay unlocked for recording to work..

Actually I’ll try to prepare a native iOS App which records an Audio a send it to the Scriberr. Right now I’m not shure to use the api for automatic recognition or only upload the media file an the workflow starts automatically…

(hint: I'm on a German interface iOS; not 100% sure if I found the correct translations)

1st workaround (most efficient IMO):

1. use the "voice memos" app of iOS
2. export the audio (... -> share) and save it to files (m4a)
3. upload the file to scriberr (using the browser of choice)

I just tested it:
the "voice memos" also works in background (no 15 seconds limit)

2nd workaround (more energy consuming):

1. go to settings
2. search for display lock and turn this to "never"
3. turn down screen brightness to minimum

trick: (no not to switch this option on and off every time)
use energy saving settings:
if turned on display will turn off fast (even with setting "never")
if turned off display will stay on

Hmm… both workarounds are not fully actionable.
I would offer that for some persons.

If there is a Tutorial: Go to Memo, Save it do Downloads, openup scriberr Site, upload the m4a.

It's fiction that this works.

„Share with“ the PWA would be the First step.
An that should consumed the Rest API
