Duplicate check in 100$a, b, c

Identical name headings should not be permitted.
In the people authorities, the heading consists of 100$a and $d, and $c when used.
If the string of 100$a, $d, and $c are identical with a name already established, the user should not be permitted to save.

You can have multiple titles ($c) associated with a single person: Princess, Queen, Empress; Prince, King, Emperor; Father, Bishop, Pope, Saint; Mr, Dr; etc.

I would suggest amending the rule to treat $c differently, since inconsistent application of these might produce false negatives. If I have $aGregory I $d540-604 $cPope and someone else enters $aGregory I $d540-604 $cSaint $cPapa then those duplicates wouldn't be caught.

On the other hand, if you have a person but don't have their dates, then some indication in $c can help distinguish them. $aSmith, John $cThe Elder vs. $aSmith, John $cThe Younger.

So independent verification of either $d or $c might be the answer?

@jenniferward wait you mean when this is saved to avoid dups with the existing people? or to make sure a,b,c don't contain the same stuff?

Avoid dups of existing people so that the cataloger who tries to save a record that says $aBach, Johann Sebastian$d1685-1750 will get a warning when they try to save.
