Add example for movie libraries splitted by language

Just so it was mentioned or can be tracked somewhere how one might want to go about it and what the Pro/Cons are.

1. Have all in the same folder
2. Split them at the higher level (movies-en, movies-fr, movies-de, ....)
3. Split them at the movie level ('movies/The Movie (Year) [en]', 'movies/The Movie (Year) [jp]'
   ... and maybe more..

Update:

As commented, there is also the option to move the language 1 level higher.. which is useful if you have a lot of different language content (en,de,fr,es,nl,ru,...).

@fionera thanks for the comment. While that works pretty well, I think it duplicates too much of the hierarchy if you have a small amount of different languages. But I always like to see practical examples so for some (legit) reason you do it the other way around and that makes me think a bit harder about the problem at hand.. If I'd scale this filetree to ~20 languages, then I'd also argue that your approach would work better. It's therefore a nice alternative that I'll have to keep in mind.

Another solution would be to have another folder level in the folder of the movie itself. 'movies/The Movie (Year)/en/

I think curation for languages is dependent on how much you have and your focus.

'movies/The Movie (Year)/en/ is useful if you have lots of videos in multiple languages and it isn't encoded as a single file.

In other use cases, such as mine, where the focus is the nationality of origin, you have a high quantity of a limited set of languages being tracked, and most videos are only in a single language `root/video/japanese/movies/The Movie (Year)' allows for finding the way you might think of it (e.g. I want a Japanese movie/series). This also accounts for the rare times where two completely different countries make a show with the same name.

Both methods are valid, but different use cases.

As someone with a quite large and simply but highly curated movies and TV shows library, I strongly advise to use both option 2 and option 1, depending of the language of the content and the languages you speak. Let me explain.

If you use a solution like Jellyfin (or Plex), option 1. "Have all in the same folder" is perfect as long as the content and folder names are perfectly curated (with TMDB or IMDB IDs) and every movie / TV show is in is own separate folder (see their respective documentation), you can throw everything in one top folder and your media system will take care of the data sorting and curation.

But I still suggest to use option 2. "Split them at the higher level (movies-en, movies-fr, movies-de, ....)" if you want to have separated libraries inside Jellyfin (or Plex). Why would you want that ? Because libraries can show content details (movies titles, movie description and more) in only one language (at least that's how it works in Jellyfin, one main language per folder/library). If you are a native Spanish or French speaker for example, you might want to see you Spanish/French movies titles in their "original" language (your mother tongue for ex), same for the movie description etc... Also note that The Movie Database (TMDB) data will be often more complete in their original language and that's not necessary in English for all foreign content.

So my TL;DR advice is the following:

• If your mother tongue is English, stick to option 1. "Have all in the same folder"
• If your mother tongue is different than English or you are multilingual, you might want to have some other folders/libraries, one for each of the language you speak. Let say you are native Spanish and French Speaker. You might want to have 3x different libraries:

1. movies -> All movies in English and foreign content in original voice (that's where 90% of your content will end)
2. movies-es -> All movies in Spanish
3. movies-fr -> All movies in French

Same applies for TV Shows/TV Series.

Note : And in the back-end reporting/stats in Jellyfin, everything will appear as a whole, same for trakt.tv. So in my opinion there are only advantages to using this method. Using it since couple years and it's perfect. I can't see any downsides except it demands a bit more work before. But this can be automatized anyway. 😉

Note 2 : Option 4. "Split them at the higher level (root/videos/german/{movies,tv..})" can be an alternative to option 2. but this is more a personal choice, don't think it would change a lot imo.
