Positron
In Positron, you will not be able to run SAS chunks as you would R or Python chunks.

Is this a typo? Or can you truly not run it the same in Positron as you can in RStudio? I have mostly done all my work in Positron except for things with CAMIS and hence sasquatch and I have found Positron to be amazing in so many ways. Is there some fundamental reason why Positron can't run the same chunks as RStudio?

Ya nevermind...I tried it and the run cell options don't show up in Positron. I feel like there should be a way to access and surface that in Positron? Especially given that Quarto would be the same between both RStudio and Positron, right? Maybe its worth asking in their posit-dev/positron repository? I think that is the correct place for that type of issue.

Its interesting looking at the SAS VS Code extension and this Altair Extension. They seem to both (from the documentation) be able to provide Language server options that provide code highlighting and such. Now that is way beyond my wheelhouse, but just thought I'd mention. Also knitr has an option related to sas here:

But then its a r code chunk and not sas.....Maybe none of this is new to you, but just "Discussing" it here haha.

Yeah, Positron doesn't have the ability to run custom code chunks. There's already an issue for it in the quarto VSCode extension.

I already put in a request to add support for sas jupyter kernel (not sasquatch). This would benefit sasquatch users as well because then you would get syntax highlighting and code completion as well. It seems like it might be an easy add, but I don't have the typescript skills to contribute myself

One last thing. I'm not sure why, but when you render the sas code as you suggest in Positron with the keyboard shortcuts, it returns the output in the Positron Plots Pane. I would think it should go to the Positron Viewer Panel instead given its not really a plot. Maybe its treated the same as plotly outputs though, so maybe its not surprising?

Yeah, it is an htmlwidget so by default it is going to render to the plots. I think I intentionally kept it that way so that you can view multiple results at the same time
