My best guess is that you are on Windows most likely and you either don't have RTools installed or it's not installed properly. But perhaps the error messages can give us a better clue |

I added install.packages('sasquatch', repos = c('https://ryanzomorrodi.r-universe.dev', 'https://cloud.r-project.org')) Typically, in order to install any R package from source on Windows you will have to install Rtools. Since you are using R 4.3.3 you would have to install Rtools43. But the r-universe version should work for you. |

I added sasquatch to r-universe last week so I think you should just be
able to install using:
install.packages('sasquatch', repos = c('https://ryanzomorrodi.r-universe.dev', 'https://cloud.r-project.org'))
Typically, in order to install any R package from source on Windows you
will have to install Rtools. Since you are using R 4.3.3 you would have to
install Rtools43
<https://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/Rtools/rtools43/rtools.html>. But
the r-universe version should work for you.

I'm not sure. Since you installed Rtools, hopefully you should be able to run the original: pak::pkg_install("ryanzomorrodi/sasquatch") If that doesn't work then:

Call pkgbuild::check_build_tools(debug = TRUE) to diagnose the problem.

Hi @tataphani . Definitely try to be careful with whatever you send to me. Even if you send a reply via email, all your replies are posted on the public github issue. It seems you included your SAS ODA password. I would definitely recommend resetting your password, and hopefully you do not reuse passwords, but if you do, I would recommend resetting any accounts with the same password as well. I have deleted your last reply, but because of the nature of the internet I cannot guarantee that no one else saw it in the meantime or that it has not been saved somewhere else. |

As to your issue, there are a couple things at play here. So
Let's do some troubleshooting of the first problem, first It seems that Run reticulate::py_discover_config("saspy", "r-saspy") If you get Error:
! Virtual environment 'r-saspy' does not exist. Then, You should get an output like this: python: /home/user/.virtualenvs/r-saspy/bin/python
libpython: /usr/lib/python3.12/config-3.12-x86_64-linux-gnu/libpython3.12.so
pythonhome: /home/user/.virtualenvs/r-saspy:/home/user/.virtualenvs/r-saspy
version: 3.12.3 (main, Feb 4 2025, 14:48:35) [GCC 13.3.0]
numpy: /home/user/.virtualenvs/r-saspy/lib/python3.12/site-packages/numpy
numpy_version: 2.2.4
saspy: /home/user/.virtualenvs/r-saspy/lib/python3.12/site-packages/saspy If you see saspy: [NOT FOUND] Then the virtual environment was created, but saspy is not in it. Ideally, you should see something like this: saspy: C:/Users/tatap/OneDrive/Documents/.virtualenvs/r-saspy/lib/site-packages/saspy If you see the full path of saspy then great, if not, let me know what you see |
