Adapters spread across two repositories. Are there more?

This is both a suggestion and a question, I suppose. I'd say providing users with a comprehensive list of adapters in a single location would be a good idea. I have found adapters both in this repository as well as in the rtiroutingservice-plugins repo.

Second, are there any more officially supported adapters not contained in these two repositories?

Maybe not important to this suggestion, but context for the curious:

My team is considering two approaches to connecting DDS to external services. One is to use native RTI tools, such as these adapters and the second is to use Kafka and Kafka Connect. In order to make a determination, we are trying to answer the following:

1. How many pre-existing adapters exist for RTI Connext DDS
2. How difficult is it to program new adapters against the RTI Routing Service Adapter API.

The rtiroutingservice-plugins that you mention is deprecated and we have moved the MQTT adapter here. The RTI Gateway contains RTI Routing Service adapters that connect Connext with other technologies, such as MQTT, Modbus or Kafka. Also it contains other helper plugins such as a JSON transformation.

Additionally, we have more plugins in our examples repo and also whenever you install Connext, you can find other adapters in our shipped examples: <$home or document folder>/rti_workspace/<Connext_version>/examples/routing_service/adapters/

Finally, we also have an OPC UA gateway and RTI Web Integration Service that communicates DDS systems with web applications via REST API or Websockets.

About your second questions, if I may ask, which technology do your devices use?

In my opinion, connecting your devices with RTI Routing Service is a powerful solution since it allows to use adapters + transformations + processors, in order to adapt your data properly to what your devices expect. Also, you can adapt one of the current solutions/adapters to similar technologies for an easier implementation.

1. As you can see in the previous list, there are several products that adapt Connext with other technologies, such as RTI Web Integration Service, RTI OPC UA Gateway, and the RTI Gateway (this repo). Also, the examples that I sent show other different adapters that may help implementing your own adapter.
2. With the examples provided and the help of the Connext AI tools: Connext chatbot and Connext for GitHub Copilot which should make easy the development of new adapters.
