Unable to load survey results – Error 500 (Internal Server Error)

Hi everyone,

I’m currently unable to load the results of individual surveys within my runs. Whenever I try, I receive the following error message:
Error code: 500 – Internal Server Error

At first, I assumed this was only affecting the newest run that we are currently testing. However, I’m now seeing the same error for older runs as well, including ones where data were collected about two years ago.
Does anyone know whether this might be a temporary issue on the server side, or if there is something specific I can do to resolve it?

Hi, I’m having the same issue.

• I can’t load survey results, and I also can’t delete surveys/runs — it throws an HTTP 500 Fatal Error.

• When I create a new survey and try to import items, I get SQLSTATE[42S02] (1146) saying the results table doesn’t exist (e.g., formr_org.s_).

• When I update/import items into an existing survey, it fails with “Unable to create a data table for survey results”, and then I again get the “table doesn’t exist” message.

Can you export survey results by going to Export results and selecting JSON? Re issues with the formr.org main instance, see #584

@rubenarslan Yes — exporting the data that way worked perfectly (both JSON and CSV). Thanks!

One thing I noticed, though: the run summaries show “0 complete, 0 begun (in ~ ?m)” for all surveys. This seems odd, because there is data present, and it’s (luckily) correctly included in the export using the method you suggested. And, it seems to be the case for all runs.

Hi, yes, so as you've all noticed, the formr server is overloaded. I've plans to bring back a new free-to-use server, but it's not quite ready for primetime yet and there will be some restrictions, so I still recommend self hosting for more complex studies.

To reduce how often the old formr.org server goes down, I recently just disabled some code that computes how many results are in. This operation is expensive given the size the database has grown to and disabling it seems like a better solution than if someone accesses a survey with 400k rows and the server goes down for everyone.
