I think they let you keep the copy of Adobe Animate. I agree with you on this. The fact that it's easy to script with it, and many people support it, and of course, Ruffle supports it, makes sense on why you want Animate CC. Me too. I don't think they can make an open-source IDE judging by the fact that Adobe Animate is proprietary, and they can't replicate it well. |

yes, it is possible to make an open source editor since the ruffle developers already have a project (developing ruffle) , they aren't likely to start a new project like this people have been saying for a long time they'll make an open source editor but then are never finished or heard from again. its difficult to do there have been a few projects here and there that can make swfs, but nothing has reached the level of the adobe editors. ruffle isn't the right place to ask about it, because the ruffle project's point is not the editor used to make files and also because ruffle is only a part of the open source community |

I'm working on an open source Flash editor: https://github.com/thisisjonathan/flits-editor |

I'll convert this to a discussion. Any potential implementation of something like this will not be done as part of Ruffle. |

It seems that Adobe is likely to discontinue the maintenance of Animate CC. Is there a chance for the open-source community to develop an IDE for Flash? In fact, if we want to quickly create small games or simple animations, or even meet the simplest needs like drawing some delicate vector comics and illustrations, there doesn't seem to be any tool more convenient than Flash available on the market today! Flash has very powerful vector graphics creation capabilities. Moreover, as those familiar with Flash know, compared to the difficult-to-use Bezier curve tools (pen tools) in other vector design software, Flash can complete tasks simply by twisting lines with the mouse cursor. Also, unlike graphic objects in other software, lines and fills in Flash can be edited completely separately. We can easily edit lines and cut fills, quickly achieving effects that are hard to realize through several steps of Boolean operations plus copy-pasting in other drawing software... I really can't find a more convenient vector graphics design software than Flash. If you want to create a small game, Flash allows you to quickly draw patterns, add animations, and then immediately add action codes seamlessly... Compared to other game engines, you need to use other software to draw materials, another software to make animations, and then import them... it's a very cumbersome process... Yeah, I believe you understand what I mean.
