Can Atlantis leverage gitlab env-vars?

I have some creds (name / password) in Gitlab's CI/CD Variables. Is it possible to have Atlantis leverage these?
On my shell I can export TF_client and TF_password and successfully run the terraform apply. So I know the creds and the TF code are good.

no, it can't... but you can pass arguments in the atlantis apply, ie -var-file=file-goes-here or -var=client=value -var=password=value, but be aware that it will be disclosed in the comments, therefore its not recommended.
