Invalid endpoint

I have tried several formats of endpoint and i don't understand the logic inside:
It looks like long name with domain are not accepted:

https://my-host.da.te.lab:8443 is not a valid endpoint

but:
https://my-host:8443 is a valid endpoint....

How to explain that?

Best way is to use chrome postman plugin to check the post values. I have faced this problem, there is a configuration option in rundeck config file to fix the issue i think.
