TOC depth in sidebar heading navigation

Question

Recent release 0.5.0 brings sidebar heading navigation (#2822) which is great. However now my TOC is really huge since some pages have up to 3 or 4 level of heading sections.

Is there a way to specify the max TOC depth? Would make my TOC look much better (without having to heavily update my documentation).

I like this new feature and don't want to disable it.

I also really like this new feature, it makes navigating my huge notes a lot easier. But I think there should be more customization for it, including max depth.
I personally would like there to be an option for TOC to be on the right, like in here, for example: https://docusaurus.io/docs.

It is interesting that TOC was added without anyone requesting it (the pull request does not close any issues), so there might not be many people who need it, or is willing to work on this.

Regarding your question, in the linked pull request the only config option that was added is sidebar_header_nav:

And folding level is hardcoded in javascript as a constant so there is no way to customize it right now:
