Description
Summary
I would like the page https://www.rust-lang.org/governance/ to display archived teams.
Archived teams should only have an alumni section probably.
Archived teams should be "less visible" than active teams, as active teams are more important than archived teams. Still archived teams should be discoverable from the users.
Motivation
This gives past Rust Project members some recognition for their work. In fact, ~40 previous members only belong to archived teams, so they are not shown in any alumni section of the website.
This was discussed in various places, such as:
- Add graydon to a
initial-designer
marker team team#1672 (comment) - #t-infra > removing inactive members from the org @ 💬
Drawbacks
The site gets more complicated and displays more information. Someone might argue that this additional information is not relevant anymore.
Rationale and alternatives
The impact of not doing this is that people don't get recognition for their work, especially after rust-lang/team#1868, which removes inactive members from the organization.
