Chat channel

I finally found my 3DS charger (yay) so i'm back in action.

Currently discussions are split between here, the issues tab and #dev in the Nintendo Homebrew discord.

I think it would be beneficial to work on the less-trivial tasks (e.g. starting with citro3d) if we had a proper chat channel somewhere.

Ideas?

I agree that some means of synchronous coordination would be beneficial for working on a part of the project such as citro3d, and seeing as most homebrew devs are already used to chatting on a few Discord servers, I believe that might be a good choice for a place to talk.

Still, other than a few person-to-person chats, is there really interest in a community space for Rust3DS? I just don't know whether it's worth the hassle of setting it up and maintaining it any more than what GitHub provides.

I could setup something in the mean time anyways, just to test the grounds.

Personally, I'm really not a fan of GitHub discussions. I can't guarantee anything, but moving to somewhere where interactions irritate me less might help motivate me to start work on this again, especially since I just found my second New 3DS, and I think I'd really enjoy that.

I honestly would rather like for us to have a discord chat. I feel like that would make a better space for more spontaneous and casual discussion than GitHub Actions does. It's not like we'd have to stop using GA entirely either; it's still a good, low-commitment, public-facing space for people to bring up issues or have discussions without having to join a discord sever. But I also feel like it would be a lot easier for us to brainstorm and collaborate with each other if we had a live chat to hang around in too.

I have opened a small server for chatting about toolchain and application development here!.

For now it's mostly just a glorified #dev channel of the NintendoHomebrew server, but if you have any suggestions for bots, integration and/or new channels, feel free to tell me 😃.

I will also put a link somewhere in the organization and ctru-rs ReadMEs for discoverability.

yeah that's okay, though we do need to remember that it's just for synchronization and organization, all issues and stuff are still to be reported here as it's indexed and easily searchable
