Three Finger Drag not working properly #268

MacOS: 26.1
Multitouch version: 1.39

Issue: Just updated to version 1.39 and the native Three Finger Drag function isn't quite working properly anymore.

Noted that it is likely advised not to use TFD at the same time as three finger actions in Multitouch, but I've always been able to use both at the same time with all previous versions, and it's one of the main reasons I chose to use Multitouch after trialing a few different options, as I rely on TFD regularly. I only had to be a bit more deliberate in my tap with 3 fingers before dragging and it would always work side by side with all other 3 finger actions in Multitouch as well.

But now with the new update, it randomly starts/stops working.

Immediately after updating, I noticed TFD wasn't working, and I quit Multitouch to ensure that it was actually a conflict with the app as opposed to other issues — and confirmed it was, as TFD worked perfectly fine with the app closed.

  • I actually wrote up this issue once before, but halfway through writing it, I went to test again and TFD was working again, so I figured it was a momentary thing and didn't post my original issue. But then a little bit later, as I was customizing some actions, I tried again and noticed that TFD wasn't working anymore.
  • I then restarted my laptop just to see if that would change anything, and after all my programs were up and running again (Multitouch set to start at login), TFD wasn't working anymore. So I started typing up this post, went back to try it halfway through, and it worked again?
  • Then I went and cycled through some of my Multitouch actions, came back to reconsider this post, went to test TFD again ... and it wasn't working again.
  • Deleted all my 3 finger actions (kept all other ones) in Multitouch and tested TFD, works again
  • Then added them all back one at a time, and TFD still works now.

So unfortunately, I'm unsure exactly what triggers it to start/stop working, but only that it is impacted by the app.

At the moment, it is working, so not really a high priority issue, but just a weird bug that I've run into after the update, and not sure what might trigger it to stop working again.

If it helps at all, these are the actions I have for 3 fingers:
