Thanks for reporting. If I have Todo mode enabled when I quit Rectangle, then when I relaunch it Todo mode is still enabled and will automatically reflow upon launch. Is there an extra step that I'm missing to reproduce what you're seeing? |

Ah I guess the Todo app has to be quit. Not sure how it's ending up that way for me sometimes. Rectangle doesn't appear to be able to open the app automatically if it's quit. Probably as designed I presume?

I guess for me, if I have Todo Mode enabled, I want the app to be running. I think I'm more annoyed ending up with a big blank space on my screen because all my windows remembered their size from when the app was running, than it is for the app to auto-start if I forgot to turn Todo Mode off haha.
I actually use Todo Mode to always keep an ebook reader on my screen. Trying to get back into the habit of reading. Having a book always visible helps me do that I think. I can also resume the audiobook from most of my books.

Right, this is less invasive than making the assumption that you always want a Todo app running if you launch Rectangle. It might be a rarely used checkbox to enable this if added, so I'm a bit hesitant to say we should add something like this to the UI.

It would be helpful to have an option for Todo Mode to automatically enable when Rectangle launches, such as on Mac startup or login. Right now, Todo Mode has to be manually enabled each time, which breaks the workflow for anyone who relies on it as their default window management behavior.
A simple toggle like “Enable Todo Mode on launch” would make this much more usable for people who consistently work in that mode and expect it to persist across restarts.
This would align with how other persistent preferences in Rectangle behave and reduce repetitive setup each day.
