Move & Resize cursor movements very laggy

The Move & Resize functions (Under Cursor Movement in settings) have been very laggy for the past few weeks for most applications.

Strangely it seems to affect every single app except for Safari. (Effects Zed IDE, iTerm 2, Nova IDE, Mail.app, BBEdit, Tower, Finder, and every other I've tested).

After a reboot it becomes responsive again, but after some period of time (I can't tell how long) it gets slow again until I reboot.

Thanks for reporting. If you revert back to Rectangle Pro v3.63, do you still have this issue?

The move functionality was updated in v3.64, but not the resize.

If you send me your Rectangle Pro config, I can load it in and see if I can reproduce it. Export from the General tab in the Settings window.

Beyond that, do you have any other apps running in the background that have accessibility permissions in macOS that might play a part in causing this?

I do have some Keyboard Maestro with Accessibility Permissions. It shouldn't conflict directly but it does have some features to move/resize windows.

Will try 3.63 and see if behavior is any different.

Hey @rxhanson, I've been experiencing this too. The moving behavior does seem to be better in 3.63 (though still slightly sluggish) but the resizing issue is still present.

Interestingly, it seems like the moving behavior is laggy in not just 3.64+ but also in 3.59. It seems like 3.63 is the only small pocket of faster window moving.

It kind of looks like there is some sort of debounce, where moving/resizing doesn't take effect until your mouse is fully stationary for a period of time (whereas previous behavior would move/resize even while the mouse is moving, much like the native window handles).

I think I noticed this happening around the time I updated to macOS Tahoe (currently on 26.1 (25B78)) though I'm not fully sure.

@shane-tang thanks for the details. There must be something different about your setup that would cause this, but off the top of my head I don't know what it could be. At the very least, I'll put in a Terminal command config it can be adjusted to behave like it did prior to 3.59.
