Latest update from AppStore 2026.02.07 does not start on MacOS Monterey 12.7.6 (21H1320)

When launched as:

open --stderr /tmp/err.txt /Applications/RectLabel.app

/tmp/err.txt contains:

  Referenced from: '/Applications/RectLabel.app/Contents/lib/libonnxruntime.1.23.2.dylib'
  Expected in: '/usr/lib/libc++.1.dylib'

Previous version started fine.

Workaround:

• In Software Updates:
  • Uncheck "Install app updates from the App Store"
• Delete the application
• Use Time Machine to restore a working version 2025.12.17

Side note: latest release is twice the size of the previous one. Suspicious.

Thanks for writing the issue.

We investigated the compatibility of ONNX Runtime with the macOS version.

• libonnxruntime.1.23.2.dylib requires macOS version >= 13.3.
• libonnxruntime.1.20.0.dylib corresponeds to macOS 12.

To run Segment Anything 3 model faster, RectLabel requires libonnxruntime.1.23.2.dylib.
We are investigating how to switch different dylib libraries according to your macOS version.
If this is not possible, we might release a different RectLabel app which supports macOS 12, and the main RectLabel app corresponds to macOS version >= 13.3.
It will be fair for you to give you a promotion code to download the macOS 12 version for free.
