How Can I connect my html page to MySQL via JS-connetor?

There is a connect button on the webpage when it's clicked it should connect to the DB, show an alert message i.e. connection complete, and open another webpage. It was displaying the alert message and the new webpage, but on adding the code for the connector, nothing is happening.
