Pretty sure you are wrong about what Dex is used for

I have a Samsung S21 FE and recently accidentally discovered how Dex works. I used a USB-C docking station/hub device to connect it to my HDMI KVM. I was surprised when on my screen popped up a full desktop - which reminded me a bit of ChromeOS.

It appears pretty obvious that there is no Windows or MacOS requirement for this to work.
