[Feature Request] Provide environment setup guide to help support development.

I am trying to install the tools to real time test changes but I am unable to find all the missing components easily. Preferably with relative paths where possible.

I would like a clear step by step guide to setup a development environment that shows how to build and test changes.

I have considered refactoring the code for a new development but that would result in a fork that would be difficult to merge.
