XML/HTML File Creation Issues

An issue with generating HTML and XML settings/reports was encountered in the isotopics by nuclides tool.

System information

  • InterSpec version - 1.0.14
  • macOS version: 15.7.3 on M2

Issue description

First attempt of trying to generate an HTML report failed, with the output finding an error with a free peak that was defined to constrain an isotopics by nuclides problem. A second attempt failed when trying to rerun the report generation while using the same file name. Subsequent XML settings/HTML report generation from isotopics by nuclides are failing with the error "CFNetworkDownload_[ID tag].tmp” couldn’t be copied to “tmp” because an item with the same name already exists," where "ID tag" is a randomly generated string.

The initial erroneous report and the subsequent error messages are attached.

Attempting to quit and reopen InterSpec, and restarting my system did not fix this issue. in both cases, I attempted to recover to the same save state I was using. This seems to be persistent with the save state for a given app state.

Initial erroneous report

Subsequent error messages take this form when trying to export HTML or XML:
