Bugs for mingw/ucrt64 were "fixed" by adding the parmetis dependency, but there is a bug with the clang compiler (shared verison, static are OK):

It looks like the format-releated issues are warnings and not errors, so should be fixed, but not causing failures as far as I can see.

I'm not sure why we've never seen the pthread_mutex_lock|unlock issues before. It must be that the pthread library is picked up on some other dependency on linux/OSX but isn't on the mingw build...

You can try adding a dependency on Pthread in packages/zoltan/cmake/Dependencies.cmake:

SET(LIB_REQUIRED_DEP_PACKAGES Pthread)

and see if that solves the issue, or doesn't change anything...

We may have to conditionalize the Pthread dependency, but lets first just see if it works...

Clang compiles to completion, while armclang requires parmetis (currently there is no parmetis arm package, the previous version, i.e. 2025.03.13 not required in this environment): https://packages.msys2.org/packages/mingw-w64-clang-aarch64-seacas

All environments require parmetis, hence the first bug described in this issue

For SEACAS itself, parmetis is an optional dependency. Without parmetis, you lose the KWAY, KWAY_GEOM, GEOM_KWAY, and METIS_SFC methods, but there are still several provided by Zoltan (RCB, RIB, HSFC) and also RANDOM, CYCLIC, and LINEAR.

The cmake-config script will enable parmetis if it finds parmetis.h in its search path, so maybe you have parmetis installed and it is finding it... You could modify cmake-config to set HAVE_METIS=NO and HAVE_PARMETIS=NO and it should build unless I am missing something.

I should probably check whether any of the HAVE_XYZ are set externally and only set them internally in the script if unset.

I do have a pull request which allows disabling TPLs in the cmake-config script (#768). I don't know if that would help in this case or not...

Basically would do something like METIS=NO PARMETIS=NO MPI=YES ../cmake-config to disable metis and parmetis even if they are installed...

Not sure this appiies in this case though.
