Can I use OpenJDK instead of Java for certain functionality in saspy?

I am trying to configure saspy on Windows in order to use the R sasquatch package in Quarto. The requirements for saspy say I need a version of Java in order to use the IOM method to call SAS 9.4 on my workstation, and I'm wondering if OpenJDK will work as a substitute.

"To use the integrated object method (IOM) access method (one of four connection methods) requires Java 7 or higher on the client."

It doesn't care who's java you use. it just needs Java to use the IOM access method. Did you try it and see that it worked? Sorry, I just got back from vacation today and didn't see this until now.
