SAS version requirement

I see SAS version needed is at least 9.4. Any chance it works with previous versions (8.2) ? Is it a situation where it could work, but stability is not guaranteed ? or a situation where it is known to not work at all ?

What kind of 8.2 deployment do you have? What host is it on? Is it just a stand alone install or a production system with metadata servers and workspace servers ...? I have no access to an install that old to even try it.
