Allow running Python code files in SAS Content

Curently, when a .py file is opening via the Content Navigator, the option to run in SAS (running man in the top right corner) doesn't appear, instead the options to run locally using the Python extension do:

This clearly doesn't work, as the file doesn't exist locally.

I have the same problem and needs. will be wonderful having the ability running a .py code from VScode while connected to viya4

Not sure if the VSCode framework allows us to overrule behaviour for .py files when Python specific extensions have been installed.

Thinking outside the box:

1. There is a Copy Path option in the popmenu on files in SAS Content, which gives you the full path for the .py file, for example:
   /Users/user123/My Folder/PythonTestProgram.py

2. This can then be used in a SAS program using proc python as follows:

   filename mypy filesrvc folderpath='/Users/user123/My Folder' filename='PythonTestProgram.py';
   proc python infile=mypy;
   run;
   

Using this approach and then perhaps adding a popmenu option for .py files "generate proc python invocation" that would show up for .py files in SAS Content might be an option. It would then generate the code shown above and you have the submit SAS code button ("running man") to run it. Would that be something that could work?

Haven't checked with the dev team, but that might perhaps be easier to achieve?
