I recommend you try https://github.com/EpicenterHQ/epicenter/ .

Alternatively I think I may have solved the build issues in my fork: https://github.com/diogovalada/whisper-writer
It still requires python 3.11, but that is declared in pyproject.toml and different versions of python per project is seamless to deal with nowadays with uv.
