[Feature request]: Support for ESP32-C6?

I'm trying to install glowworm on my ESP32-C6, but I get the message that it's not supported. Are there any plans to add support?
I'm not sure what the difference is between this and the C3, apart from better wifi on the C6

Hi there,
C3 and C6 are very similar if not for two big differences, ZigBee and WiFI 6 support.

Current stable does not support C6 but you can try the
development branch if you want.

You can try it from the beta web installer
Before clicking the install button, please select the beta version from the drop down menu.

Thank you! Beta version installs, but do I need to built firefly myself to get the beta version?

you can install it on top of your existing installation, next stable will automatically update the software to the latest stable once released.

Thank you! After installing the beta, it won't show up in my application menu, but that's an issue for firefly, so would be offtopic here.
Will C6 support come in the next stable release?

if you downloaded the firefly beta I linked to you, you should see the device.
if you can access the web interface, please show me this page of your web interface

and then the network tab of the firefly app

and the mode tab of the app

When installing the Full firmware, I don't get the option to set up the wifi. On the light firmware it seems to work fine (Although I haven't plugged in LEDs to test)

My problem is that all of firefly gets installed in /opt/, including the desktop file. I suppose I could move that manually, but it's a bit odd imo

I decided to plug in an LED to see if it actually works, but I can't get any output.

I plugged a single LED into the ESP32, which I confirmed to be working by running a regular arduino sketch to blink that LED.

ESP32-C6 is fully supported in the beta you are trying.
you need to figure out what is the problem with the setup.

if LEDs does not turn on, it probably means that you are not configuring the right GPIO for the purpose.

ESP32 and ESP32-C6 uses a very different USB stack, ESP32 uses a UART chip, ESP32-C6 uses native USB.

Your user may not be part of the groups required to access USB serial devices.
This may prevent communication with the device.

On most Linux distributions:
sudo usermod -aG dialout $USER

On Arch Linux:
sudo usermod -aG uucp $USER

After running the command, log out and log back in (or reboot the system).

If you want to try the full firmware and the webinstaller does not offer you the option to provision WiFi, you can do it with Firefly software, in the network tab, provision button.
You obviously need to flash the full firmware for the purpose.
