Does Watcharr Sync Show History

I have been using Watcharr for a while now, mainly just for the rating systems for shows and games which is great, and I love how lightweight the container is

I had initially synced it with Trakt but then not updated it since, but wanted to sync my new shows and movies.

I noticed that for the shows I had watched, and that were updated on Trakt as being completed, were not showing on Watcharr after the sync. As an example, the Flash TV Show I had watched Seasons 1-5, but in Watchar it had not pulled this through and was showing as not watched.

I wanted to know if this is correct behaviour, or something with my setup.

My aim is to have Trakt syncing with my media player which it currently is, then that pulling down the Watcharr including the watch progress.

@CyberZig the trakt thing is more of a one time import type of deal, I might have overlooked this use case when testing originally.

Could you give me a list of steps that occurred to get this bad behavior?

Eg:

1. Tv show added to watcharr through trakt import
2. Changed tv show to "completed" on trakt
3. Ran trakt import again and tv show status is not updated to completed

Is that about right?

Yeah so as an example, I set up Watcharr in July and sync to Trakt which pulls my shows and watched history.

Let's say at the time I am on S3 of the flash so S1 and 2 would show as watched.

I then continue watching that throughout the year and get onto S5 in September and want to pull my data down to Watcharr again, I would then expect it to, when I import from Trakt, pull my latest history on the flash and show completed S1,2,3,and4.

Currently if I pull the Trakt import again, it will not update the episodes I've watched and I will need to go through manually and update them.

Does that make sense?

So for some more context, my workflow would be to watch my shows and films on a service that natively scrobbles to Trakt such as Stremio, this then keeps Trakt up to date with the progress of my shows.

I would then periodically sync Trakt to Watcharr and it would update my existing lists and watch history based on the new Trakt updates.

This means that inevitably when Trakt make all users pay for the bare minimum, I have a identify sync locally that I can continue to use.

And I can sync my games in Watcharr too which is nice, and the rating system is what I mainly use Watcharr for.

This makes the Trakt import more of an ongoing system rather than an initial import.

@IRHM I have just done some testing and have found a work around at the moment that will allow me to bring my shows up to date.

As an example my Watcharr entry for the show "Flash" was showing as only completed season 1 and 2, but on Trakt.tv is showing as watched season 1-7, when I imported again from Trakt this was not updating as I am assuming if there is a value for a show, it will ignore it or not overwrite it.

What I can do is delete the entry on Watcharr by going to the "Flash" show and clicking delete which will remove my watched history and any rating I have added. If I then run the Trakt import again, it will pull the latest from Trakt and will show seasons 1-7 as completed.

What would be a useful change to the import function is if there is an existing show, rather than skip it or whatever it does currently as part of the import, it instead updates the seasons and episodes so they align.
