Ideas for splitting tasks?

My suggestions:

If you are an experienced researcher who has published many papers and already has specific questions or hypotheses in mind, please announce them, gather as many collaborators as you wish, take the lead on writing, assume the senior author position, and give first authorship to whoever contributes the most.

If you are a graduate student or postdoc aiming for first authorship, share your questions or ideas to find others with similar interests. If you need guidance from experienced postdocs or professors, express that need and offer them a senior author position.

If you are interested in the topic but prefer not to commit to leading a paper yourself, you can still join sub-community discussions and offer help to potential lead authors. Searching for relevant papers and summarizing them is always valuable. If you have programming skills, that’s also a highly marketable contribution. You may also want to learn tools such as BioRender or Adobe Illustrator to create clear scientific figures and infographics. At the very least, you can contribute by asking questions (even “simple” questions are important—they give others the chance to solidify their understanding by explaining things in their own words), joining discussions, and proofreading manuscripts.

There can be other immediate goals beyond publishing papers. For example, you might:
-Summarize questions and answers into a Wiki page at SCCN (as I have been doing).
-Develop computational toolboxes to share with the community.
-Create a neuroart vides on EEG 1/f dynamics and post it to Youtube
-Start a venture company with others here exploring applications of EEG 1/f-ness.

All you need to do is express your interests, questions, or suggestions—and see who joins you.
