VPN from tethered devices

Hi,
It's said that "The tethered connection will NOT use the VPN". Is there a platform restriction that makes it difficult to share VPN connection with tethered devices? I'm finding how I can achieve this feature in Android.

That is a platform restriction. VPN is limited to the current user. if you have multiple users on your phone/tablet (work user for example), you can also have a different VPN per user. But nothing affects tethering.
