1. Removes the dashed line, replaces it with a solid black diagonal line.
2. Fill the lower triangle by grey colour.
3. Extends the diagonal up to intersect with the “infinity” line at the top-right corner , so that it will be seen realistic.

The plotting utilities in ripser.py are really just calls to persim and its diagram plotting utilities. You can open an issue there if you like, but some of your suggestions are pretty opinionated. For example, I don't agree with points 1 and 2. What might be the best compromise is to ensure that the produced plots are always returned to the caller as matplotlib fig,ax objects, so that the user can further manipulate them as they see fit.
