I came across https://github.com/indigo-astronomy/indigo/tree/master/indigo_optional_drivers/ccd_rpi ; a driver for RPi HQ Camera for INDIGO. Tried it - needed to compile INDIGO, then libcamera and then this driver (indigo_ccd_rpi) would compile - in that sequence. It appears to be a quite fast driver and capture times are not much longer than the exposure time set; binning is enabled and appears to be working well. I could get it to work even with Kstars.
Will be testing it and comparing it with indi_pylibcamera - though it would be interesting to have someone more experienced person to have a look at it vis a vis indi_pylibcamera
