Using the latest Docker image, I have this error when trying to search for json format, ex:
http://searxng.localhost/search?q=test&format=json

http://searxng.localhost/search?q=test work correctly btw.

I guess your request is blocked by bot protection / docker images are configured for public instances and have bot protection activated (limiter) by default:
