how do I know if a rect was rotated?

Is there a way to know if a rectangle was rotated other than looking at it's width height and calculating on my own?

I'm curious about this as well. It's not clear to me from the documentation that rotation is even accomplished. There are a lot of algorithms that don't perform rotation at all, so it would be helpful to make it unambiguous.
