App data not restored after app reinstallation

I was having some quirky syncing behavior between Nextcloud Notes app on my phone running CalyxOS and my Nextcloud instance on the web. As a result, I made a local backup using seedvault and then removed and reinstalled the app. However, none of my previous files were restored. I then tried running a new backup thinking this might trigger the "Automatic Restore" behavior which was activated. However, I had no such luck.

Is there a critical step I'm missing in order to restore the data from the app I removed and then reinstalled? Or do I misunderstand what the feature is expected to do?
