No .backup.metadata folder in backup to internal storage even though it seemed to be valid when the backup was created. #906
-
I was trying to view the backup with https://github.com/crass/seedvault_backup_parser/tree/feature/extra-bip39-validation%2Bfeature/better-arg-handling%2Bfeature/support-v1%2Bfeature/better-logging because I don't currently have a working phone to restore the backup to and I just wanted to see what is in it. It says it's "Not a SeedVault backup" and it seems to be because it doesn't contain a .backup.metadata folder. I recall when the backup was taken it said it verified the backup was valid after creating it but I don't remember the exact thing so maybe I misinterpreted what was happening. I wondered if this also means I will have nothing to restore when I get a working phone to restore it to, or if seedvault uses a different format now compared to what that program expected? The .SeedVaultAndroidBackup/ folder contains these two folders in it and that's it: 6.1G ./1b37fc5b211617d992f6587d72f13369be8a423f4f6ec7b978114367b11cb093 Neither of them contain a .backup.metadata. I'm not sure if either of them are supposed to. 5fddf063d43666be.sv contains 1741211164890.SeedSnap |

Looks like you are using a recent Seedvault. The third party code you linked doesn't seem to support that, yet. |
