[Issue] Z13 2025 / FN-Lock is enabled in G-Helper, F1-F11 keys will only function as system control keys.

What's wrong?

"When I enable Fn-lock in G-Helper, I cannot input the Normal F1 ~ F11 keys.
(Whether I use the FN key or not, it only functions as system control function keys. Volume, Brightness, etc..)

The F12 / Airplane key works independently of the Fn-lock in G-Helper.
(F12 is the default input, and Airplane Mode works with the FN key.)

Is there a way to fix this issue?
By closing G-Helper, I can use the Normal F1~F11 keys.

@expineer4u that's absolutely expected behavior.

Your device does not have any hardware FN-Lock (you never had it in MyASUS/AC). So G-Helper just emulates it by registering F1-F11 as own hotkeys in windows, and running corresponding actions. F12 is reserved, and is not covered by FN-Lock at all.

So it does not make FN-F1 perform a F1 action :) It's due to the software nature of FN-Lock.

It's been resolved.
Everything is working perfectly.
(The FN-LOCK rule has been applied even to the F12 key.)

@expineer4u yeah, cause now it's hardware fn-lock instead. That one is handled by laptop itself, G-Helper just sets ON and OFF command.

Hi I meet a similar issue.
Case 1. While my Fn-lock is enabled (whether Asus Services are stopped or not), F1-F11 only function as system control keys, and F12/Airplane works independently of the Fn-lock in G-Helper.
Case 2. While my Fn-lock is disabled and Asus Services are disabled, Fn+Esc will enable/disable GHelper's Fn-lock.
Case 3. While my Fn-lock is disabled and Asus Services are enabled, F1-F12 function normally with Fn. But when I press the Fn + Esc or Fn + F10 keys, the screen does not display "Fn on/off" or "Touchpad on/off", although these two functions are actually correctly turned on or off. When I press Fn+F7 and Fn+F8 (to adjust the brightness), a progress bar for the brightness will be displayed on the screen (while when the Asus service are disabled, values such as 10%, 20% will be shown). Fn+Esc won't enable/disable GHelper's Fn-lock.
Case 4. If I exit GHelper while Asus Serveice are disabled, it's similar to Case 3 ( Fn+Esc's function won't be shown on screen. Fn+F7/8 show progress bar). But Fn+F2/3 (keyboard light), Fn+F4 ( AURA), Fn+F5 (Power mode), Fn+F10 (touchpad) won't work.
Case 5. If I exit GHelper while Asus service are disabled, it's similar to Case 4, but Fn+F2/3 and Fn+F10 can work. Fn on/off and Touchpad on/off still can't be shown on screen when I press Fn+Esc or Fn+F10.

When I had just uninstalled Armoury Crate, I assumed the issue might not have existed at that time (or perhaps I hadn't noticed it yet). However, pressing the M4 key not only opened GHelper but also triggered a pop-up message stating that Armoury Crate was not installed and prompting me to download it from the official website. When I searched online for a solution, someone suggested deleting the three Armoury Crate-related exe in the C:\Windows\System32\ASUSACCI directory. At the time, I only deleted ArmouryCrateControlInterface.exe, and the pop-up no longer appeared.

Later, I mistakenly downloaded ASUS Keyboard Hotkeys (thinking it could remap the functions of the F1-F11 keys, as I wanted to swap the keys for adjusting keyboard backlight brightness and screen brightness). After uninstalling it, I noticed the current issue. On one occasion, after deleting ArmouryCrateKeyControl.exe from the C:\Windows\System32\ASUSACCI folder, I found that all the Fn+Esc/1-12 shortcuts started working properly, but the on-screen icons displayed in a Windows native style. At this point, Fn+Esc no longer toggled GHelper's Fn-lock but instead showed a different style of Fn on/off indicator (which I believe is the classic Windows style, similar to what I had seen on my previous Lenovo Legion laptop).

I tried restoring these two .exe files from the Recycle Bin or deleting them again, but neither resolved the existing issue, and the scenario where all keys worked correctly no longer occurred.
