Usernames in user profile

Each user should have an unique username associated with him, and an option to edit that username according to his choice.

I think this should be an option while registering on https://blog.semikolan.co/register, since later on we need a functionality where people can directly use something like https://blog.semikolan.co/user/username or something similar to go to his public profile.
