Can't install the gyp package manually either:

$ python3 --version
Python 3.8.2
$ python3 -m venv testenv
$ source testenv/bin/activate
$ pip install gyp==0.1
ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement gyp==0.1 (from versions: none)
ERROR: No matching distribution found for gyp==0.1
$ pip install gyp

Tested on Ubuntu 20.04.
