Does shadcn monorepo can support tailwind v4.0?

I tried to upgrade ui package to tailwindcss v4.0 but css style doesn't apply well.

Is there anybody who succedded to upgrade tailwind version?

all I had to do was add the following to globals.css

@source "../../../../apps/";
@source "..";

and it started picking up the classnames from my apps and my ui package

It works! I've been trying to fix this for days, thank you my friend!

I only have one last problem, when I try to use shadcn utility classes inside the globals.css of the "app" it does not recognize them, not even when css is imported.

@import 'tailwindcss';
@import '@mymonorepo/ui/styles.css';

a {
  @apply text-foreground;
}

This will throw error: Cannot apply unknown utility class: text-foreground

@sheldonj https://github.com/linkb15/turborepo-shadcn-ui-tailwind-4 You can use this turborepo template. I created it recently.

The template is using the @source way but if you want more modular, you can use CSS @import way like this post.

I was having this issue as well recently, and I managed to make it work with one of the solution above.

Thanks sir, it turns out you have to register the source for shadcn
