How to add custom url/app traffic to route through shadowsocks? I had this working before, but now my settings don't seem to save

For example, here is the process I do:

1. Add custom URLs to the custom rules file (even if I force-close Shadowsocks and open it, the URLs I added are still in this list, so this step seems to work, I think)

2. Change the "route" to use "custom rules" and set the specific apps I want to route through Shadowsocks to "on"
   

3. Connect to this particular proxy (I also tried changing the setting while the proxy was active and when it was disabled - in both cases, the settings didn't save)

4. Go back into the "manual settings" for that particular proxy of the settings I changed

5. And, you can see, the settings haven't been saved - likewise, if I try changing the "route" to "custom rules" and settings "apps vpn mode" and choosing the specific apps to "on", it still doesn't work. So it seems the UI is updating, but the underlying logic to change/save the settings isn't working

I had it working before and I think this was how I did it, so I'm confused why it's not working. Should I be doing this differently? Or does this seem like a bug?

Thanks. It's annoying, since, otherwise, shadowsocks works great for the browser...just not for the other apps...
