xbox 360 wireless controller breaks vjoy

I have two virpril joysticks that I am running through hidhide, joystick gremlin, and vjoy. everything works fine until I turn on the xbox 360. At that point, I can test joystick inputs in virpril, and then joystick gremiln but not to vjoy.  No inputs make it to vjoy.  Any help?
