Question about detect-3d-cubiod

Very meaningful work.
The paper introduces the three cases of calculating vanishing points. The top surface can be seen in all three cases. 

If a cabinet cannot see the top surface, is there no way to calculate the accurate 3D structure? I don't think VP1 can find it in this case.
