Gallium Nine aka the native Direct3D9 API implementation in Mesa. 😉 As far I known QEMU has support for it. In comparison to WineD3D it is definitely faster, more accurate and even more stable. And unlike the Grover Project Gallium Nine is already part of Mesa since several years.

I don't know, but Gallium Nine implements the full IDirect3D Device 9 COM interface and a custom COM interface called the ID3D Adapter, which is used to implement the final IDirect3D9Ex COM interface.
Gallium Nine outperforms Wine's conversion from D3D9 to OpenGL itself.
Gallium Nine makes wined3d more complete
