Today I used the sniffer for the first time and noticed how fast the response is. That gave me the idea to use the remote control of a MiLight device—with its many buttons—to control other devices in the smart home via Home Assistant.
For example, we could create a virtual button in the MiLight dashboard that is mapped to a button on the physical remote. In Home Assistant, this would appear as a regular MQTT-based button, which we could then use to turn on the climate control, raise or lower the roller shutters, or even use the color wheel to control the volume of smart speakers.
I think this could turn into a really useful feature.
What do you think about this idea? Would that be something worth developing further?
